2008 Call for Abstract Information

Here's your opportunity to shape the field of healthcare quality! NAHQ's Conference Planning Team invites applications to present at NAHQ's 33rd Annual Educational Conference. The conference, entitled "Collaboration: The Spark Behind Quality" is scheduled for September 14-17, 2008, in Phoenix, Arizona at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Report and Spa.

Presentations are encouraged in the following areas:

    Concurrent Sessions

    • Each session is limited to ONE PRESENTER ONLY.
    • In 150 words or less, provide an accurate, succinct and informative representation of the content you plan to present.
    • Presentations must avoid any semblance of commercialism: those constituting promotion and advertising are prohibited.
    • Each session is scheduled for 75 minutes.
    • Speaker Benefits include: $150 honorarium and complimentary conference registration

    Paper/Poster Presentations

    • Paper and Poster presentations are limited to one primary presenter.
    • In 150 words or less, provide an accurate, succinct and informative representation of the content you plan to present.
    • It is suggested that papers reflect research models.
    • It is suggested that posters should reflect important and successful research projects as well as other improvement efforts.
    • Within the abstract please include the following: Topic/Problem, Research or Study Methodology, and Outcomes Measures.
    • Paper presentations are scheduled for 30 minutes.
    • Posters will be mounted on 4 ft high x 8 ft long fabric covered boards provided by the association.
    • Poster presenters must be at their poster boards and be available for questions at designated times during the conference (approximately 3.5 hours cumulatively).
    • Posters will remain on view throughout scheduled exhibit hours.
    • First, second and third place awards will be given at the conference for the best posters.
    • Poster presentations at the conference are recognized for four (4) CE hours towards CPHQ recertification.
    • All accepted papers and poster presenters are responsible for all expenses related to their presentations, including, but not limited to air & ground travel, lodging, meals, and incidentals. Paper presenters must minimally register for the day they present their papers and are responsible for related registration fees. Poster presenters must register for the entire conference and are responsible for related registration fees.

    Applications will be evaluated using a blind review process (i.e., the reviewers are unaware of the applicant's identity). Deadline for submission: Friday, October 5, 2007, Midnight Pacific Time. Abstract notification will be made by end of January 2008.
